TITLE: Extreme Networking

TIME/LOCATION:
Tuesday, March 10, 9:00AM-10:30AM
Location: International Ballroom IV-V

DESCRIPTION:
While there are challenges facing deployment of all networks, there are special challenges in deploying and maintaining networks in extreme environmental conditions (heat, cold, environmentally inhospitable) or in those where distance is a critical factor (space, deep sea, mountaintops). This panel will present several case studies along these lines and discuss with the audience the lessons learned from these deployments that could be useful to networking in less remote regions.

PARTICIPANTS:
John Delaney, University of Washington
Alan Whinery, University of Hawaii
Scott Burleigh, JPL
