TITLE: NSF Center Efforts to Improve Regional ICT Education Using CENIC

DESCRIPTION:
The National Science Foundation Advanced Technological Education (ATE) program has awarded a $3 million grant over 4 years to launch the Mid-Pacific ICT (MPICT) Center, at City College of San Francisco. This Center will coordinate, promote and improve the quality of ICT education, with an emphasis on Community Colleges, in a region consisting of northern California, northern Nevada, southern Oregon, Hawaii and the Pacific Territories. This presentation will describe how, together with initial MPICT Regional Partners (Cabrillo College, Foothill College, Ohlone College and Santa Rosa Junior College), MPICT is working to harmonize ICT course, certificate and degree offerings, improve ICT educational and career pathways, and positively impact the ICT workforce.
